Bord na Mona use a Brown Turf whereas the EU turf is Black. The advantage of the Black Turf is its long burning ability with a higher heat generation.
It gives the room a mystic aroma of a bit of old world Ireland making it a very popular choice by many.
It is suitable for open & closed fires within the Home and can be burnt in Smoke Controlled areas.

How to light your Briquettes ?
Either use our Tea Bag method tip discussed on our Fire Lighter Page or the Crinkled up Newspaper Method together with a few pieces of kindling.Place either method between two Turf Briquettes and then simply put a match to it.
