West Bio Group introduced in 2010 an exciting new firewood specifically for Solid Fuel Stoves to our existing range of quality timbers namely, "Sickle Wood" (Sekelbos) together with our existing range of well seasoned Ash and Conifer Fire Woods (Pine & Spruce).

For those who enjoy cooking and or use a Solid Fuel Stove and continually demand a fine quality low moisture content timber then look no further:

Sickle Wood - this is one of the finest Solid Fuels for Rangers /Solid Fuel Stoves/Closed Fires with the lowest of moisture content measuring an average of 12%. Three Logs WILL BURN for at least 20 HOURS. (see our page on "SOLID FUEL STOVE FUELS"). Sekelbos is also a popular "braai" or barbecue timber as it enhances the flavours of the meat by smoking the food with its uniquely scented natural oils which normally is only found in BBQ sauces.

All our Hard Woods are ideal for Fireplaces, Cookers and Stoves as it ensures maximum heat & burning time with the minimum amount of ash and soot build up in the chimney.

A further advantage of our range is that they do not Spark and are POLUTION FREE leaving your chimney 99% cleaner than other available Solid Fuels. Our Firewoods are all well seasoned and in other cases Kiln Dried.

The timber comes in an asortment of pack sizes:

  How to light your Fire Wood -
  Have you heard of the Top Burn Method?
 
 Something New yet something Old!

 How to build and maintain a top-burn fire where you lay up firewood in
 criss-cross fashion with the biggest logs at the bottom, graduating to
 fine kindling at the top. It's an old-time technique from Europe that gives
 you a longer- lasting, cleaner-burning fire and can be utilized for both
 fireplaces and stoves:
